ABOUT
Helen Cooley is a classically-trained harpist and pianist whose playing brings timeless elegance to events throughout West Texas and beyond. Based in Midland, she has performed for weddings, receptions, corporate gatherings, private dinners, special celebrations, and ensembles for over two decades.
Helen has appeared as guest principal harpist with the West Texas Symphony, Civic Orchestra of Abilene, and Abilene Christian University Orchestra. Her ensemble credits also include the First Baptist Dallas Orchestra, Interlochen World Youth Symphony Orchestra, New River Valley Symphony Orchestra, and University of Texas Permian Basin Philharmonic, among others.
Since 2006, Helen has performed alongside two of her sisters in the Cooley Sisters Harp Trio. Together, they have released two albums: Hymns for the Harp & Soul (2011) and A Christmas Album (2014). The trio was honored to perform at the White House during the Christmas seasons of 2018, 2019, and 2020.
Helen holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas A&M University and a Master of Arts in Mass Communication from the University of Florida.
